I couldn’t ask for a better place to wake
Than where I last saw my heart, the Garden State.
We’ve taken shovels to the ground, ripped these floorboards out
To show the memories we’ve made here mark the soil beneath us

So grow them into something new,
But you can never take us from our roots.
We all live our lives as if to prove
That there’s something bigger and better out there

Do you feel tied down?
You’ve been counting the days
And “away”s your best bet to finding yourself..
Well count me out.

I’ve had the times of my life riding broken bikes
Driving to town just to fuck with peoples’ minds
It’s the shit that we do on these quiet nights
That helps me get through the toughest time of this teenage life

Two thousand ten:
Blood and sweat made up the greatest days of some friends
And a band that never worked for less than what they drove for.

We’d spend the year to rehearse the five songs we had
And in my honest opinion, they weren’t half bad
But if you’re doubtful, well ask the ten fans we had
Singing “this is growing up”

We call this home.

That there’s something bigger and better out there
(But the grass is always greener somewhere…)
